SMP can fill in these patches to blend with the surrounding hair and reduce the visibility of the patches. The challenge is that areata can be unpredictable — patches can change over time. ALOPECIA TOTALIS (complete scalp hair loss) Total hair loss across the scalp. SMP can recreate the appearance of a shaved head, giving definition and the illusion of hair follicles across the entire scalp. This is more involved work than standard SMP and is priced accordingly.
ALOPECIA UNIVERSALIS (total body hair loss) The absence of eyebrows and other facial hair adds complexity to how SMP results are perceived. Cases are assessed individually.
STRESS-INDUCED AND TRACTION ALOPECIA Hair loss caused by stress, tight hairstyles, or other external factors. Depending on the extent and whether regrowth is possible, SMP or PRP may be appropriate — or a combination of both.
